Scott Kwan, DPT

Scott's education began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences from UCLA in 1995. After graduation, he worked one year as a physical therapist aide before beginning his graduate studies at USC. Though he went to both schools, he proudly admits that his loyalties and “allegiance” will always go for his alma mater UCLA. In 1999, Scott graduated cum laude from the USC School of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy with an entry level clinical doctorate degree in physical therapy. He worked 7 years at an Outpatient Physical Therapy office of which 6 years were spent as manager for the department and for another off-site facility.  Scott then decided to pursue a path in private practice and subsequently opened San Gabriel Valley Physical Therapy in 2005.  He lives in the community that he works and hopes to impact his patients' lives through education. Scott successfully avoided surgery for both shoulders by following the recommendations of his orthopedic surgeon and the treatment plan of his physical therapist. Because of his personal experience and education, Scott's treatment philosophy emphasizes the importance of an active lifestyle as a means of easing or preventing some of the more common aches and pains that many endure daily.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf at different Southern California courses, basketball, fishing, playing guitar, and most importantly spending time with his family.
